Article arrow_drop_down
Texas Parasport Games

Texas Parasport, a leading adaptive sports organization dedicated to empowering athletes with physical disabilities, has rebranded its flagship event. The Texas Regional Games, one of the premier adaptive sports competitions in the Southwest for more than a decade, is now known as the Texas Parasport Games in partnership with The Hartford. It will remain part of the Move United Hartford Competition Series, one of five prestigious adaptive sport events in the United States.

With this rebrand comes an open invitation: Registration for the 2025 Texas Parasport Games, set for April 24 – 27 in San Antonio, is now open at www.texasparasportgames.com. Athletes of all experience levels—no qualifying events required—are encouraged to participate. Whether an experienced competitor or trying adaptive sports for the first time, this event allows participants to experience the excitement, camaraderie, and benefits of adaptive athletics.

From high school students to active and retired military members, participants can compete in nine sports, including airguns, archery, boccia, field, powerlifting, rowing, swimming, tennis and track.

“This rebrand marks an exciting new chapter,” said Wendy Gumbert, executive director Texas Parasport. “The new name reflects our focus on adaptive sports and better communicates the heart of the competition to athletes, spectators, and partners. Most importantly, it reinforces that everyone with a physical disability—regardless of experience—has a place in adaptive sports.”

Since its inception in 2011, the event has served as a vital steppingstone for developing Paralympic athletes and fostering a vibrant, inclusive sports community. But it is also a gateway for newcomers—offering a welcoming space to discover the power of adaptive sports and become part of a supportive, thriving network.

Texas Parasport encourages anyone with a physical disability to register today. For more information or to sign up, visit www.texasparasportgames.com and follow Texas Parasport Games on social media.
